20/1/2010 - SPS: CONSTRUCTION SITE - JANUARY 2010
The partition walls of the whole Sports Park are rising on the northern and the southwestern area of the site, while the Shopping Centre has already grown to park level (yellow formwork on the right edge of the images).
There has been significant progress on the assembly of the stands on the northern part of the stadium ring, and in the forthcoming days we can expect the corners of the stadium steel roof to be put in place.
Recent construction works on the Sports Hall include steel supports for the roof and concrete finish of the stands. Mechanical and electrical installations are also in full swing.
Be sure to check back for another set of images from a different angle in the next few days.

22/12/2009 - SPS: CONSTRUCTION SITE - DECEMBER 2009
Concrete works on the Sports Hall are going to an end. The supporting structure is nearly finished and ready for the assembly of the steel roof, which will take place somewhere in the end of the month. In the meantime, the stadium is already receiving its steel roof, while the construction of the shopping centre and parking areas proceeds rapidly.

The construction works on the Shopping Centre and parking areas started this month. You can already see the foundations and columns occupying the southern part of the site. On the Sports Hall part, we are also nearing the construction of the steel roof, beginnings of which may be included in our next report. Until then, enjoy the new images.

We have received the “Golden Pencil Award" for our project Villa Beli Križ. Each year the Golden pencil is awarded by the Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia to the most notable projects of the past year. Villa Beli Križ was awarded in the category “residential building”.

On Friday, October 16th the foundation stone of the new building of the Slovenia Control, Slovenian Air Navigation Services, was laid and marked the construction start of our Air Traffic Control Centre project.

A model house is now finished and open for viewing at Urbanje.The project started in 2007 and is now nearing completion.
The Urbanje housing complex brings together the advantages of the urban environment in access, maintenance and security, on the one hand, and of the natural environment in cohabitation with nature and the changing seasons, on the other.

1/7/2009 - MVRDV + 24 SELECTED OFFICES ON ALMERE PROJECT
Netherlands is known for reclaimed land. On one of this polders lies the city of Almere, which is growing fast into becoming the fifth largest in the country. To further fasten it's development, a new center named Olympiakwartier is going to be built. 60.000 m2 of work space, 120.000 m2 of housing, 15.000 m2 educational, 2.000 m2 commercial space, 2.640 parking spaces and various public spaces.
For this project a Dutch architectual biro MVRDV was commisioned. They invited twentyfour international offices to participate in the project, ranging from novices on the field to the already established. Sadar Vuga architects are one of the select.

On June 30th Sports park Stožice will host an open day. The citizens of Ljubljana will be able to see the construction site on a guided tour. At the same time the new partners to the project will be announced.

How are emerging practices in these newly independent countries setting new benchmarks in innovative design? How have young Croatian and Slovenian architects embraced both the legacy of their architectural traditions and forward-thinking production? What will be the impact of the countries’ joining the European community on the design sphere?
These and other questions are addressed in “New Trajectories: Contemporary Architecture in Croatia and Slovenia,” which focuses on the work of thirteen practices. The exhibition, which is curated by Mariana Ibanez, Assistant Professor of Architecture, will be on display in Gund Hall Gallery at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design beginning September 8, 2008. A moderated discussion with architects from both countries will be held in conjunction with the exhibition from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm on September 17 in Gund Hall’s Piper Auditorium.
