The Objective is to convert two existing residential and mixed use buildings in the center of Ljubljana on Krojaška street into a "design/boutique" hotel. The buildings are in the historical part of Ljubljana, on the bank of the Ljubljanica river and as such, the general outlook has been protected. The project is an example how to respect the surrounding historical architecture but at the same time bring something new and fresh to the city. The project consists of two existing buildings and a third building in the ground floor that are connected in a small hotel but outside remain visually separated. As one enters the building, the three buildings merge into a story of one space with different themes. The design of "three dimensional ceiling" and continuous floor pattern of the ground floor helps to create this illusion. Space is not created with walls and slabs but with continuous form, materials and patterns that embrace it. At the same time, this "form" holds various functions: electricity, lighting, ventilation, heating. In section, the buildings are closed to the street and maintain their historical appearance. The structure opens at the back and allows northern light to enter the building from behind. New steel and glass structure climbs from the atrium creating a light envelope around central Krojaška 6 building.
There are 17 rooms in upper levels with three riverfront vista suites. On the rooftop the glass facade with outside shading creates a "glass box" - hotel "living room" with views on the rooftops of historical centre of Ljubljana which is connected with a rooftop terrace.
